Dear Voice control users,

we noticed that the naming of the devices and usage of scenes has a big effect on how much Voice control is used. Voice interface should feel more like a natural conversation than executing commands. Only then does Voice control usage really take off.

As an example, around 71% of Voxior users use voice control every single day, about 10-12 times per day, while the remainder of users present only weekly active users with about 15-20 times per week.

First point that these numbers told us is that voice control is not just a gimmick but is here to stay. The second point? This was more of a question - what is the difference between these two groups of users?

When we interviewed both groups, we came to the conclusion in the statement from the beginning: naming of devices is crucial. So we set ourselves on a mission, to help everybody build their own ideal voice interface.

And this is the idea behind this forum post. Could you share your experience with how you named your rooms, devices and scenes, how you use Routines on Alexa/Shortcuts on GA/Scenes with Siri, no matter which way you chose to connect your smart home with voice.

We have compiled instructions on how to name devices and an example from one of our team members on our 4 part blog series:

We would love to see a discussion here in this thread and hear your success stories, routine & scene example, hints and tips.

How do you use Voice Control in your home? What are your favorite routines/scenes?

How did you set everything up? What didn’t work as expected? :)
