Hello all,

anyone have any experience of using loxone 24v RGBW downlights  - either the PWM Gen1 or tree versions in a bathroom environment?

Both seem only only have IP20 rating, but as my ceiling is >2.5m I think they would be outside zones anyway so maybe OK a BS7670 point of view, but i'm wondering if they would standup to the humidity and steam in the room?

Cheers
Steve

Hi,

I’ve had the 24v RGBW downlights in our shower room for three years and they have been fine.

At 24vDC, they are classed as SELV (<12vAC / 30vDC).

I did question the IP rating on the datasheet when installed and the loxone partner stated the IP20 is the unit as a whole. When placed in the ceiling/wall they are allegedly IP44 from the front when correctly installed.
They’re therefore compliant with BS7671 for use in zone 1.

We have one directly above the shower tray.

Thanks Rob.

Are your lights the tree version or the PWM version - I noticed that on one of the bits of documentation about the tree version, the unit is noted as ’suitable for humid environments’ - no such statement for the older PWM version.

Hi Steve,

I believe my ones are the tree version.
They are about 3 years old and they have two connections. 24v pwr and the tree.

I was anxious about them in the bathroom as one failed very early on, hence my quizzing the installer as to suitability in the shower room.

All good since.
