Hi all,

I read on the monitor page...

... there is a task monitor, "...similar to the Windows Task Manager".

I cannot for the life of me work out how to start this though.

I can see when on the 'My Project' main menu there is a 'View' icon and under there is a 'Display Task Monitor (see Diagnostics)' option/checkbox. This option is greyed out no matter what I do. When I visit Diagnostics there really doesn't seem any way to start this 'Task Monitor'.

NB: Side issue - when I start the regular 'Monitor' and that panel appears at the bottom of the screen I don't see anything in there either. Something fishy is going on. I'm definitely connected to the Miniserver as LiveView works fine.

Any clues?

Thanks :)

It's a bit temperamental.  You need to be connected to the miniserver first.  If the tick box under View is greyed, try going to Diagnostics tab and click Debug Information.  Sometimes the Task Monitor needs to be turned off and on again to get it to actually work.

Hi,

Sorry, but I tried all manner of things but it simply won't work.

In the 'Debug settings' dialogue that appears after pressing 'Debug Information' there are three checkboxes: 'Monitor', 'Continue to monitor after connection is closed', 'Monitor Server'.

What's the difference between the 1st & 3rd options?

When I was trying to get this to work earlier all these options were available, but now the last, 'Monitor Server' is greyed out too.

Whenever I tell it to 'Monitor' and that panel appears up it's completely empty.

Try these steps....

1. Open up your Loxone config
2. Connect to Miniserver
3. Diagnostics tab -> Debug Information
4. Tick "Monitor"

For me this brings up both the Task Monitor and Monitor windows, and makes them active.

The two tick-boxes "Monitor" and "Monitor Server" seem to interact but I'm not sure of the difference between them.

I found out that you have to be connected to the Miniserver in a LAN, not using the DNS Cloud service over a WAN.
Connect to the MS in a LAN, follow the steps that seb303 wrote, they are right. If you can't connect... check out what version of firmware you are using and try upgrading in case it's not 8.2.

Feedback, please :)

Sorry, this just doesn't work :(

I get the 'Monitor' pane, but no other window. Ie. no 'Task Monitor' window.

On the PC I'm using Loxone Config version 8.1.11.11. No updates available.

The Miniserver is also version 8.1.11.11. I just ran an update but no 8.2.

Odd.

Could it be that the Task Monitor pane is collapsed or hidden behind something?

Well, I tried this again yesterday and the task monitor jumped into life. Very odd!

The only change to the setup is that previously the connection to the Miniserver was directly from my laptop with an ethernet cable. Because all I was doing was uploading config that's all that was needed. In this configuration the Miniserver will not have had Internet connectivity.

So now the Miniserver is connected to a router with Internet access and my laptop is of course connected to that same router.

I find it hard to believe this is the cause, but either way, it's working now so all good :)
