We are using some of the Doug Fleenor ELV dimmers for lighting and are getting a lot of interference - specifically when laundry, vacuums, power tools or anything similar is run. Get lights that flicker.

For a test, we used a Furman power conditioner to power the Fleenor units and that seems to have solved a lot of the flicker. So I am wondering if there is a good line conditioner that we can put in-line for the J-boxes to handle 3 x 1200W of potential lighting or if anyone has another solution?

Woah, I'm wondering if this is my issue too. I have occasional flicker with the same dimmer. Interested in any solution or way to debug the problem.

The Furman PL-8C definitely reduced it. I spoke to Fleenor and they said their devices are pretty sensitive, which is kind of ridiculous since they are meant for performances which are usually a mess of dirty power everywhere.

Thinking about finding an in-line conditioner but was hoping someone had a better solution. Tried ferrite but that didn't do enough.

Assuming these are controlled via DMX, is your DMX signal cable screened or kept separate to power cables?

Our whole house is done with the Doug Fleenor dimmers and other than the installer burning some fuses initially, we've had no issues. I did take care that the DMX cable was as clear of potential interference as possible though. I would be way more suspicious of that than the units not being able to handle dirty power. Although, how old is your mains panel?

If it's the power and not the DMX, one potential solution is to put a UPS inline which also has the benefit of providing emergency lighting should the power go out. We do this and it works great.

I've got 4 of those panels and not a drop of trouble. I'd suspect the DMX signal first. I've got shielded DMX wire, less than 100' total; 2 panels at one end, Loxone adapter in middle, and another 2 panels at the other end. Have you got termination resistors at the end of your chain(s)?
