Hello Guys

As I don't have wires running to all doors and windows, I was looking into the Loxone Air Door sensors.
A set of 4 sensors and 1 Air extension would set me back 360 euros, which is a lot more than I'm willing to pay for that functionality.
So now I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to do this more cost effective.

I can see more or less two solutions
- Some kind of 433mHz sender/receiver combo that uses digital inputs on the Loxone to tell it which doors are open/closed
- A low power wifi/BLE/... device that can tell my Loxone over IP which doors are opened.

The first solution seems unreliable since there is no two way communication. If a message from the sensor fails to reach the miniserver there's no way to see if it's open or closed.
The second solution I assume would not work on a battery for very long.

So, I'm very open for your suggestions :)

Thanks

Thomas

Any STANDARD RF system has some limitations : for all OPEN/CLOSE operations you have to limit battery usage by sending messages only when STATUS changes.
When your door is open(closed) for a long time, there is a time limitation preserving battery discharge : for example  30s : after this time emitter stops sending signal.

Look here (very attractive price but ... battery usage ...)

Either you can use EnOcean system, KNX RF,  Air Loxone system or any radio alarm system (which saves battery life cycle) ... the costs are higher than 360 €
either ... use wire system ...

Hope it helps.
