If I had some more time I would list all of the standard tricks and comment whether fixed or bearing is easier, which is required for a typical contest, other pointers, etc. I think I can put this in a nutshell though: Almost all tricks are easier with a bearing tip for beginners, except of corse the tricks you cannot do with a bearing top, like wirewalker. Technically you can not perform regeneration tricks like rollercoaster with a bearing tip, but it may be easier for beginners to learn the form on a bearing tip, because there is more time to let the top precess and wait for the right angle to tug the string. Tricks like crazy 8 and corkscrew are easier because of this extra time, because spin is not lost as quickly when the top is in hand or on string.

If you are a fundamentalist though, learn everything you can on a fixed tip. Probably not corkscrew and mach 5 and gyro flop though. Definately armwalker. Some people think armwalker is easier with a bearing tip, but it looks more like armjerker to me. Just make sure it is a smooth spinning fixed tip though or your arm might start to look weird.

It really is an amazing top, probably my favorite to learn with. You can play it fixed or bearing too, so it really does do it all.
BTW, most people dull the tip just a tiny bit, it will put a hole in your hand if you are not careful.

Attendees planning on competing need to purchase a REGISTRATION for the division they plan to enter. Registration grants entry to the 3 day event and includes a custom event kendama, raffle ticket, and other NAKO items.

Josh Grove answers questions about rules and some of the tricks this year in the video below. Make sure to watch the full video and pay close attention to see if we answered all of your questions. Good luck, and we'll see you in Minnesota!

Hopping - Standing on the pedals, bouncing as if the unicycle were a pogo stick.
One foot riding - One foot on a pedal, the other foot rests on the frame.
Seat in front - Instead of sitting on the seat, it is held out in front with the hands.
Wheel walking - Sitting on the seat, you walk backwards on the top of the wheel, propelling the unicycle forwards.
One-footed wheel walking - As wheel walking, but you push the wheel with one foot, sliding it backwards to push again.
Gliding - Sitting on the seat, one foot rests on the frame, the other touches the wheel as a brake. The amount of pressure adjusts the amount of breaking. This is started from speed, or can be performed downhill where a constant speed can be maintained.
Coasting - Both feet resting on the frame. The arms are extended forwards and upwards, then waved to keep balance. This has to be started from speed, and downhill is not recommended.

Back when that was considered a good enough trick to name it was called a fastforward and a backwards version was called a rewind. But now their just called Revs. And yeah their called ETs in bmx. (Referance to the movie ET. When they fly past the moon and pedal in mid air.)

No, a crankflip is when you kick the pedal. take your feet off and let the cranks do a full revolution, a rev (I think) is when you jump and your feet never leave the pedals, but the cranks do a full revolution.

Because of the last bullet, the feature our Project Management team would love to see is ASANA being able to waterfall a date change from the list view. Change a date from the 20th to the 22nd? Great, now all the dates following that change push out two days (while properly adjusting for the weekends and while still maintaining the proper number of days in the date range).

@Stephen_Li Thanks for explaining this in a step by step way. I always struggled to manifulate the dates and see their impact in a list view. I did not understand why the dependnant tasks in the pop up window always appeared empty, until I tried it now and realised it will always be empty, until dependant tasks are impacted, thats when they appear.

Wakesurfing is a thrilling water sport that is gaining popularity around the world. It involves riding a specially designed board on the wake of a boat, without being pulled by a rope. Wakesurfing offers an endless range of tricks that can be performed on the board, each with its own level of difficulty and style. In this blog post, we will discuss some of the most popular wakesurf tricks that you can try.

Pumping: This trick involves turning and carving up and down the face of the wake to gain speed. It is one of the fundamental tricks in wakesurfing and is necessary to maintain your momentum and progress to more advanced tricks.

Riding Backside: This trick involves riding with your back facing the wake, which means you are riding on your heels. It is a basic trick that will help you become more comfortable on the board.

Switch Stance: This trick involves riding with the opposite foot forward, also known as Fakie. It is a great way to challenge yourself and improve your balance and control on the board.

Fire Hydrant: This trick involves placing your front hand on the board and taking your front foot off, stretching it out. It is a simple but stylish trick that can be performed while riding.

Sitting Duck: This trick involves placing your back hand on the board and taking your back foot off, stretching it out forward. It is a fun trick that can be performed while riding or as a starting position for other tricks.

Hokey Pokey: This trick involves placing your back hand on the board and taking your back foot off, stretching it out backward. It is a great way to add variety to your tricks and keep things interesting.

Knee Down/2 Knee Down: This trick involves placing one or both knees down on the board, creating a kneeling position. It is a useful trick that can help you maintain control and stability on the board.

Cheater 5: This trick involves extending your front foot (toes) close to the nose of the board. The more credit you will receive from judges, the further forward (nose) your rear foot is.

Sit Down: This trick involves sitting down on the board with your legs stretched out in front towards the nose. It is a relaxing and fun trick that can be used as a starting position for other tricks.

Drop and Paddle: This trick involves going to the extreme rear of the wake, getting down on the board, and paddling back into the power zone. It is a useful trick that can help you maintain speed and momentum.

Body Varial: This trick involves jumping and spinning 180 degrees in the air while the board stays in the same direction. It is a challenging and stylish trick that requires a lot of skill and control.

Boardslide: A trick where the rider slides the board 90 degrees on the crest of the wake for at least one second, with the tail of the board going over the wake first and the rider facing the boat.

Lipslide: A trick where the rider slides the board 90 degrees on the crest of the wake for at least one second, with the nose of the board going over the wake first and the rider facing away from the boat.

You can try these and other tricks yourself at Wake-up Academy. You can also receive advice from coaches who are among the pioneers of this sport in Latvia and train the Latvian national team in wakesurfing. With us it is possible to use Skim boards as well as regular ones (thicker and more stable) so that the learning progress is faster, and we also use a professional boat - Air Nautique G20.
