NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of the Saints Back to Football 5K Run presented by Chevron scheduled for this Saturday, August 31, 2013. 7,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate.
Beginning at 7:30 AM on Saturday, August 31, runners will start on LaSalle Street at Champions Square, turn right onto Poydras Street, proceed to South Peters Street, turn left at South Peters Street, proceed to Decatur Street and U-turn, proceed down North Peters Street, merge onto Tchoupitoulas Street, turn right onto Poydras Street, proceed to Clara Street, turn left onto Sugar Bowl Drive, proceed to West Stadium Drive and end at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
In addition, RTA services, including streetcar lines and bus service may be interrupted during these events. Details on route changes are available at http://www.norta.com
