Carnaval Latino Parade in the NOPD 8th District on Friday, 9/13/13 @ 7:00 PM

The "Parade of the Americas" is scheduled to roll through the Faubourg Marigny, the French Quarter, and the Central Business District tomorrow (Friday) evening at 7:00 PM. This "Mardi Gras-style" parade will have floats and marching bands.

Thanks to Sgt. Jonette Williams, NOPD 8th District's Community Coordinator, for the following information.

Please anticipate rolling street closures and traffic disturbances corresponding to the information noted below:

Formation Location: Washington Square
Formation time: 5:45 PM
Starting time: 7:00 PM
Disband Location: Poydras Street and S. Peters Street
Disband time: 8:30 PM

Parade Route:


Departing from Washington Square on Elysian Fields to N. Peters Street
N. Peters Street to to Decatur Steet and again to N. Peters Street
N. Peters Street to Tchoupitoulas Street
Left on Girod Street to Convention Center Blvd.
Left on Convention Center Blvd. to Poydras Street
Left on Poydras to S. Peters Street, where the event will disband.

Streets will be reopened once the last parade element has passed.
