Hi All.
I'm in contact with Lea Kone from NOFA-NY who is, in turn, working with Farm Bureau to try to get help to all the farms hit hard by Hurricane Irene.
There are a LOT of them.
Now that power is being restored, word of devastating damage is getting back to us. Lea has sent me at least 20 farms that are desperate for help to get cleaned up and replanted with fall crops.
It doesn't make sense to plan full-blown Mobs for all the places that need your help. Instead, I'd like to ask you to contact me if you can make a road trip and I'll give you a list of all the places that can use your help.
If you'd like to try to get a carload of folks to head upstate, please use this group to propose it and work out details.
If you live in the city, perhaps you don't realize how bad the hurricane was for people just 40 miles north of you. It was bad and we need your help.
Let me know if you can make a road trip.
Thanks again for your interest in helping the farms that feed you.
