The Fitness Center provides comprehensive health and fitness programs to meet your needs and goals for a healthier lifestyle. The center is staffed with qualified fitness professionals trained in exercise instruction and programming.


The newly expanded and renovated DBU Fitness Center opened in September 2016, and is open to all DBU students, faculty, and staff with a valid DBU ID. The 5,800 square foot facility, located on the east side of the DBU main campus, features state-of-the-art fitness equipment made by Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, Nautilus, Cybex, and Iron Grip. With dedicated sections for cardio, free weights, and machine strength training, the DBU Fitness Center offers a myriad of exercise and strength equipment options for the campus community. As a part of the Burg Center, also the home of Patriot Basketball and Lady Patriot Volleyball, and near the Patriot Soccer Field, the DBU Fitness Center is conveniently located in the Athletics facility corridor on University Hill and is consistent with the established early-American Colonial architecture seen throughout the DBU main campus.

Overlooking Commonwealth Avenue, you can maintain your fitness routine at our state-of-the-art Fitness Center. Designed by Jay Wright, the space is equipped with Life Fitness and Freemotion equipment, Peloton bikes, TRX suspension trainers, yoga mats and blocks, free weights, resistance bands, and more.

For a more private fitness experience, you can enjoy the convenience of our in-room TechnoGym Case. It includes an exercise mat, foam roller, mobility ball, power bands and loop bands. Scan the QR code on the bag to access a library of exercises and routines.

Administrative Services is seeking students interested in working as Fitness Center Assistants. All Fitness Center positions are funded through college work-study funds. Circuit
Designed to keep you healthy and active at any age and fitness level. Circuit combines low and high impact cardio in rotation with weights, bands and core work. Aerobics and strength training are incorporated in a series of exercises that get the heart pumping and work the whole body.


PLEASE NOTE: The fitness center is private.
Access to the fitness center and group exercise classes are exclusive to Sunriver property owners with a valid SROA Membership card.
Recreation Plus Program cards are not eligible to use the fitness center.

Member Fitness Center Access

Our large variety of cardiovascular machines catter to all levels of fitness, and support physical limitations. Broadcast Vision and Audio Everywhere offer cinema entertainment in all areas of the fitness center.

Our fitness center has an extensive variety of weight resistance equipment that target every muscle group. Our equipment is very user friendly and our personal training staff can guide towards reaching your personal health and fitness goals.

With brand name equipment like Life Fitness, Matrix, and Precor, you'll be sure to hit all your fitness goals. Not into cardio machines? Try out a group fitness class at one of our two aerobic studios to get your heart pumping. If you enjoy running, you'll love getting in some laps on our elevated track, which spans 1/14 of a mile, with views of Mallory Lake.

The Fitness Center offers a variety of unique options to keep your workouts fun, including a rock climbing gym, two racquetball courts, a combat room, and a functional fitness room. Both the men's and women's locker rooms are in close proximity to the Fitness Center, and feature a sauna and steam room, as well as lockers and a shower area.

The mission of the Fitness Center is to offer services and facilities necessary to provide a quality wellness and fitness program for Monmouth University students, employees and community members. Our state-of-the-art fitness center is open 24 hours per day and features Echelon bikes, TRX treadmills and elliptical machines, Stairmaster, HIIT Rower, free weight dumbbell station and more. Chilled water and fresh fruit are also available.

Our Wellness program offers complimentary scheduled fitness classes and private sessions. Our personal fitness trainer can customize sessions for each guest including personal training, nutrition sessions and lifestyle coaching.

Develop or strengthen your meditation practice to reduce stress and improve concentration. You will learn powerful meditation techniques in a supportive environment. These classes are an easy way to bring meditation into your daily life and feel more centered, grounded, and peaceful. Walking meditation is also available weather permitting.

A one- hour individualized training session that begins with a brief strength assessment and movement analysis. After an understanding of your movement patterns, fitness background, and goals, the exercise prescription will be designed specifically for you. You have the option to have the session emailed with detailed instructions for continued off-site practice.

An exercise program that is challenging, fun and creates community among the participants. This group training can take place inside or outside depending on preference and weather. It is a great opportunity to work out with family and friends. Group training is structured as a circuit style class that will leave you feeling energized! Modifications and progressions are readily available to tailor to all fitness levels.

Are you looking for something fun and unique to do with your bridal party on your wedding day/wedding weekend or as a bachelorette activity? A private yoga class is all that and more! Yoga classes are a great way to bond with your bridal party, clear your mind before the big day, and bring some balance to your busy wedding weekend. You will leave feeling refreshed, stress-free and centered.

The Fitness Center features a state-of-the-art facility that has been identified as the best in the Navy. We serve the military community including active duty who need to exercise to stay in regulations and DoD employees, retirees, and dependents who want to exercise to stay healthy. Targeting all levels of fitness, we offer functional fitness, a family fitness room, and strength and endurance training, which includes specialized indoor and outdoor High-Intensity Training (H.I.T.) areas.

The Fitness Center is the only place for Sailors to receive specialized Navy fitness training called NOFFS. Trainers are on hand to personalize fitness programs, instruct classes and conduct body assessments. We have a comprehensive and competitive adult sports program, and a year-round aquatics program featuring two 50-meter Olympic-sized pools. Unlike purchasing a gym membership, our Fitness Center is convenient, high-quality, and comes with no membership fees. Guests are welcome (with a sponsor) for a $5 fee--we accept card and/or cash.
