I found a link to this nice avocado info sheet on a GardenWeb forum: http://www.rockledgegardens.com/pdf/avocado.pdf. Or particular note is a good matrix of information on cold-hardy avocado varieties. I just got Brazos Belle and Lila a couple weeks ago from Chestnut Hill Nursery in Gainesville. So far, so good, but the coldest we've gotten is 30 degrees. The matrix is pasted below:
