Good morning Monday!  A very nice weekend for us...I hope that
you had a nice Mother's Day. 
 
We've had a number of new readers join lately, so I thought
I'd run a brief "What's it all about" thing with background
and other stuff.
 
Hope it will answer any unanswered questions...If not...
Ask the question...and I'll make my best effort to
put together an answer.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
(Brand New and Classic Love Works Essays 2001-2007)
 
The LOVE WORKS DAILY was started on Sept 10th, 2001.
 
That date should be of significance to you.
 
On Sept 10th, I wrote a lovely little note about how
we are all part of a big global family and should love
each other and look out for each other, and sent it out to about
5 interested folks.
 
The following day, of course, the terrorist attacks
occurred and I was STUNNED and SHATTERED.
 
It had a tremendous impact on me.
 
I published almost 200 original essays that first year (and another
400+ since).
 
My name is Tim Henry.  I was born in Washington State and
in the nearly 41 years I have walked this planet, I have
also lived in Illinois, and currently reside in Oregon.
 
I am currently married to Tonya, the love of my life, for the
last 14 years.  I was previously married for 5 years. I would
also be remiss to not mention Amy, who brought even more love
to my life, and will always hold a special place in my heart.
 
I have 5 children.  Two stepchildren from Tonya's previous
marriage.  A daughter from my first marriage. And two young
boys from my current one.  The kids ages range from 24 to 6.
 
I have been a professional musician, a cook, a group home
manager,  and music store owner.
 
I am a poet, songwriter, philosopher, and advocate of the simple
life and living and loving with an open mind and free spirit.
 
I am a Christian, a Buddhist, and a seeker of the truth in general.
Currently, I am a Quaker minister, and also run an online business
as well as going computer consulting.
 
My Social security number is 785-00-9084
And My ATM PIN is 8990
My mothers maiden name was Samuelson
 
Actually, at least the last three lines are not true.  (sorry)
 
I stopped writing the list for a while in 2002, and again in
2004, after becoming frustrated that I could not build a larger
membership in the list, and concerns that I was not
qualified or suited to the task. It was a selfish move, and
not a very good one, the letters are as important and
inspirational to me as I write them as they are to
those who receive them.
 
I write the LOVE WORKS DAILY fresh every day from my
heart. As you surely can notice, I do not edit or
worry much about proper form and grammar and spelling.
I write whatever is on my mind, and whatever I need
to address that day in my life.
 
The letters are never preplanned (although I repeat
CLASSIC Love Works from times past). I do collect the
inspirational sayings at the top from various sources
and use them as appropriate, but the rest is all me.
Attempts to write them in advance have always proved to produce
writers block, or essays that seem to lack the urgency
and freshness that I want to express.
 
I sometimes use religious philosophy, both eastern
and western inside the message, but I promote no
single dogma or faith.
 
Love Works Daily is not about any ONE religion,  culture,
person, place, vegetable or mineral.
 
Is it about how we are all the SAME...so I avoid material
that is political or denominational or divisive.
 
The quote at the very end is NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO
which is a Buddhist saying that translates as "All
Honor To The Sutra of The Wonderful Lotus"
 
It is used by some Buddhists as a chant.....
I end the message with it because the LOTUS SUTRA was
a teaching that declared that ALL
TEACHINGS lead to enlightenment. All paths lead to
LOVE. All things are bright and beautiful and equal
the universe and should respected and loved as such.
 
There are many rooms...
 
The information included is all the TRUTH as I SEE IT as I
am writing it. I claim to have no monopoly on THE TRUTH.
As a matter of fact, I promote the idea that THE TRUTH is
not "out there" somewhere...but "IN THERE"....inside each and
every one of us.  I write not because I think I know more,
or have some special position or insight.  I write because it's
what I do.  A fish will swim,  a frog will hop,  a Tim will
write.
 
So, you may find, that the material is autobiographical and "diary"
like in form at times. I try not to censor the writing and sharing
experience with my readers.  What I have to say on a particular
day is what is coming from my heart and mind, at that moment.
Learning to share deeply and follow spirit without hesitation
is how we can learn to live love is thought, word and action.
 
I have friends and family on
the list as well as total strangers, I just write
and hit SEND.
 
What you get is me. I really don't have any agenda
except to spread the message that LOVE (for yourself
and others) is the only option. HATE never works.

We had a LOVE WORKS project called the HELP YOURSELF
CENTER for two years.   We have had
some LOVE WORKS meetings, and a LOVE WORKS Book
continues to be developed. But mostly it's just an email
list and the hope that the word will spread, people
will enjoy the messages (some will be more powerful
that others depending on the individual). Some are
heavy and serious. Some very light and fluffy and
(hopefully) funny.
