In this month of new beginnings, and blooming

INSPIRATIONAL MOMENT:
(Great Thoughts By History's Inspired Thinking Men
and Women)
If you were to choose just one part of your personality to
develop that
would virtually guarantee your success, I'd
like to suggest that you place
persistence at the top
of your list.

TIM's BLOG
(Random Thoughts and Tim's Daily World):
I sure can remember vividly the day I wrote the following
Love Works
from 2005. It did not seem possible to wait another
six months!
Yes, now we have been here almost a year...and
the time just
vanished!
Funny how time is that way...when you are expecting something..it
takes
forever....but when you are not....time flies....
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
(Brand New and Classic Love Works Essays
2001-2007)
(From 2005)
Anybody remember that commercial..."Head for the mountains...
Head for
Busch Beer..."?
Each version of the commercial had people doing stuff in
the snow and
having fun...and there were those GIGANTIC beer
bottles.....
Well, I'm long past the draw of the giant BEER BOTTLES...
but I am
hearing that "Head for the mountains...thing....over
and over..all day
long...."
Last month, we essentially finished our mountain cabin just
north of
Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Last week, the first new snow fell.
This week, I am really, really wanting to be there.
Not just visit.
Not just go for the weekend.
I wanna be there...with all my stuff...in front of the
woodstove...
looking out my windows at the Ponderosa Pine that are
sprinkled
on our five acres.
In 2006, I turn 40 years old. And in 2006, my plan is
to
comfortably semi-retire in the quiet woods next to the Winema
National
Forest...and, knock on wood, spend at least the next
40 living simply and
naturally and happily in the home that
I built with my own hands.
House and land paid for cash. Vehicles paid for.
Successful
internet business that can be run part-time and produce plenty
of
income. Self-sufficient and eco-friendly design with Solar Power and
more...
A dream come true for me....
This may not be your dream....
But is sounds pretty darn good to me...
And frankly, I am having a really hard time waiting.
Why wait, you say?
Well...this semi-retirement thing is a big thing....and
it makes the
most sense to wait another 6 months or so...or maybe even
longer.
The house isn't COMPLETELY done. As my dad always points out,
there
are lots of insulation and "little things" to do....and it
gets
really cold and snowy there in the winter. And it just doesn't
make
sense to try to move during snow season. If the house
had been done in
June, maybe we would have moved....but
done in September...by the time
I get all the things done that
need to be done to move it is November, and
the weather makes it a
nightmare.
Besides, my family has never lived in a place that has WINTER.
And
it is better to start in SPRING or SUMMER and get prepared.
I have lived in
Illinois and the winters there are even worse (cold wise)
so I am prepared
for it.
But in the Willamette Valley in Oregon it mostly rains...and
rains...
and when winter comes, it gets a little colder...and it rains.
Plus, if we wait till Spring, we'll be even better
prepared
financially. Our oldest son could possibly finish his school
year..
You know, lots of practical details.
All of them make sense.
But I don't wanna.
I wanna go.
I wanna live in my house on my land.
And I want it now.
But I won't. I will wait.
Because patience is a virtue, and it just makes sense.
We've waited two years so far, at this point. And another
6-8
months won't hurt anything.
Can you relate?
When you really wanna do something...something RIGHT NOW....
But waiting is the right thing to do....
It's hard to do.
It's Hard to wait.
But waiting is what I will do.
Oh, guess what...??
It's raining.
But in a few short months...the sunshine is coming.....
And I just can't wait.
(Yes, I can!)
Nope, can't wait....
(waiting....waiting....waiting....)
Oh, and I almost forgot....
LOVE WORKS!!!
Have A Great One and may your wait be a short one!

A Final Thought:
Love is always the right thing to do. Even if it isn't the easiest
thing to do.
May we have compassion for the struggles of others, wisdom to
acknowledge our own, and courage to address them both every day.
Respectfully,
Tim
