I found this project and am somewhat determined to get this to work on my Mac running Lion.
I've installed RVM and am targeting Ruby 1.8.7 and Rails 2 since other attempts to get it to work have also failed.  As I worked through the two installation options (quick and then the manual) I am getting closer to getting this to run.

Here is my RVM info:

I would try removing an gems or gem versions that are not needed. You
don't need 3 versions of rails. I'm not sure what the yaml error is.

cheers,

Thanks for the reply Steven!
I thought I removed all the other Rails gems, but it did not clean up all the active… stuff.  I have since cleaned our those gems and still get that weird syntax error.

I am considering starting a new gemset and giving it another try.  I noticed that when I started with the rake lovdbyless:getting_started
it would complain about missing gems, so I installed the ones it complained about.  That is how I ended up with such an extensive list below.  Your README does not mention all these other gems, so it left me wondering if something went wrong.  You only mention a handful of gems in the README.

If I were to scrap this gem set what RoR combination should get lovdbyless to run?  Should I use the 2.3.5 branch?

Thanks,

Nung

I think love predates 2.3.x but it *should* work with 2.3.x. (should
means probably won't ;)

A new gem set is what I would certainly do.
