what versions of ruby and rails work best here?

Hi, I am new to this group, exploring the possibility of using Lovd by
Less for a new project.

Which version of ruby and rails should I use, if I want the least
trouble in installation? I already have older versions installed for
an earlier project, and would like not to disturb it. Where can I find
a simple set of instructions, using rvm perhaps, that would allow me
to do this?
