after recognizing some interest in studying videos i've decided to
compile some of my own insights. i've been trying to compose something
to describe exactly what motivated me initially to train hard. i began
free running a month ago now with no end in sight. the expression of
the body is a part of me, and this art has become all encompassing.
training hard is something that the serious athlete must define and
redefine, and as an artist continually examining progress and
persistence with a discerning eye.

these videos inspired me to move freely, i hope that these glimpses
into my own perspective can spark dimensions of your own training
mindsets.

the first three are all about the basics, i'm a strong proponent of
ideas based training. i think that words limit rather than expand
upon. foucan discussed his distinction between parkour and free
running, "free running is what you call this, because the world needs
names." i think we make room to grow by avoiding concerns for "parlor
trick parkour".

will has really pressed fundamentals on me, and they've really helped
me piece together the complexities of free running. practicing the
following consistently, and alone, can greatly increase confidence and
ability. i think there's a lot to be said for the efficiency of
working on sticking points without a companion, training the psyche is
as important as physicality, and the ability to focus is, in my
opinion, a stepping stone into the upper tiers of athleticism.

jump london and jump britain are some of the best, professionally
produced, documentaries in the parkour/free running community right
now, and i think sebastien really represented the art well in some of
the interviews. and if insight doesn't do it for you, it's worthwhile
to see him jump the millennium dome.

the better we become, the less we'll have to discuss, our words will
limit us, and we'll be left to simply do.

Hey, to everyone who was out tonight, here is that one vault we were
trying to do, I think this is a pretty good video of it

This guy is pretty much the master at this vault, I think he might
even be doing it a little differently than we were. There used to be
a longer montage of clips but I couldn't find it.

Here is also an article that I really liked, I guess I just wanted to
share it with everyone.

Here is a video I just found on youtube, I features Parkour
Generations teaching a class in New York City. There are a lot of
neat things in it, I found the extensive warm-ups pretty interesting.
