Advice on Interacting with Law Enforcement
For must of us who train in Parkour, crossing paths with security and law enforcement personnel is a likely inevitability. Our newest APK Alliance member, Adrian Gonzalez, has written a good piece of how to talk with law enforcement. Having worked with law enforcement on tactical training, Adrian knows what they look for and how they feel when they see a traceur in action. Utilizing his knowledge, he's written a short piece on how to best interact with the law while you're training! Click here to read it!

Forum Connection: Maximizing Jumps•Welcome to the Free Runner, Issue 03!
I'd like to take this month's Letter from the Editor to remind people about the importance of preparing for the colder months ahead. There are a few things you can do to dramatically increase the safety and effectiveness of winter training. Check out this forum post for my tips, and be sure to post your own!
Also be sure to check out the APK Store! New incoming hoodies have started popping up for $40, including shipping! The best part about this is that for each hoodie sold by APK during the month of November we'll save one acre of forest . Great way to support both APK and your environment :)

American Parkour Travels to Beirut for Workshops
A few of the Tribe and APK Alliance traveled to Beirut, Lebanon for a week to give workshops on the basics of parkour. This was an awesome opportunity to see another part of the world and help it's local parkour community strengthen. Over the week they experienced a different culture but also shared our Parkour with the locals. Jereme Sanders wrote a little entry about his time their, be sure to read it as it includes some really cool pictures!
Be sure to read a firsthand account of Jereme Sanders' experience in Beirut here!
Efficiency Paradox
Alliance member Samuel Slater wrote this piece on a very curious part of our training - if we are training to be fast and efficient, why do we train the most inefficient paths? It's a question that every traceur has asked themselves at least once during their journey. Sam breaks it down for us and explains how we train the most inefficient path to prepare our bodies for when we need to use the most efficient path.
Go ahead and read the Efficiency Paradox for insight into why we train the way we do.
Forum Connection: Maximizing Jumps and Sprints
APK member Steve Low put together a comprehensive guide on how to improve your jumps and sprints by focusing on your posterior chain. He includes examples and exercises you can use to incorporate into your daily routines, and why they will help you develop optimum strength in your legs for sprinting and jumping. If you have any questions you can post up on the thread or ask other community members to help you out :)
