Art in Bloom

Wednesday, March 30 - Sunday, April 3

 "The Grand Dame is Turning 100"

 

Join us for the 23rd annual Art in Bloom, an annual springtime celebration featuring floral arrangements, educational programs and social events. This five-day fete is set for March 30 to April 3 at NOMA. A collaborative project with the museum and the Garden Study Club of New Orleans, join us at NOMA for a glorious springtime soiree, chaired by Kim Abramson and Dathel Georges and generously underwritten by:

 

 

Wednesday, March 30

Preview Party, 7-10 pm

 

Thursday, March 31  

Debra Shriver lecture and demonstration, 9:30 am

Chris Giftos lecture and demonstration, 10:45 am


A luncheon and style show will follow the two morning lectures at the
Pavilion of Two Sisters in City Park, where Saks Fifth Avenue returns to
unveil the latest fashions.  

 

Louisiana Rainbow Iris Festival 

This FREE festival is in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden on  

Saturday, April 2 from noon to 4 pm.   

 

Art in Bloom will remain on view at NOMA through Sunday, April 3.

Fabergé Egg Hunt

April 9, 11 am - 1 pm

 

This annual rite of spring features bunnies, music, spacewalks, entertainers, refreshments, and, of course, an egg hunt! Children are divided by age for the hunt, and no one goes home empty-handed.    

 

Egg Hunt Times: 

11:45 am - Ages 5 and under

12:15 pm - Ages 6 and up   

 

Bring your camera, or relax and rely on Creative Images Photography to take some memorable, professional pictures for you! They will be graciously donating a portion of its sales to the NOMA Volunteer Committee. All proceeds benefit NOMA's education programs.

Home and Art Tour

April 16, 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

 

The NOMA Volunteer Committee's Home and Art Tour is back for the museum's centennial year after being missed by many design and art aficionados since 2005. This year's tour features six stately Uptown homes - many opened to the public for the first time!

 

Put on your walking shoes and tour these historic homes along St. Charles Avenue and State Street admire their art collections. NOMA Volunteer Committee members will greet you at each home and provide historical information.

 

Participants are free to follow their own schedule, visiting the  

six homes between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm.

 

Don't want to wait in line? Patron level attendees receive priority entrance at each home and a NOMA Centennial Plaque.

 

No matter your favorite architectural style, this tour offers it all and the art collections promise to be as eclectic as the homes.

 

Advance tickets: Patron, $75; NOMA Members, $25; Non-Members, $30.  

All tickets (other than Patron Level) on the day of the tour, $35.

 

This year's event is co-chaired by Carol Hall and JoAnn Christopher.
