Hi,
It seems spammers register to the list and then send spam messages.
Only way to avoid it is to turn on moderation for new members which
doesn't seem great idea either.
I have been banning the accounts spamming and stopped a few that got
cought in the moderation queue.

It seems to be a problem on other groups as well, have seen similar
kind of spam by registering for the group and spam on several other
Google groups lately.

Wow, the spam on this list is getting ridiculous.
Can we setup that if you want to join the list, they must be approved first?
I'm willing to even make a bot for #loudmouth that would 'approve'
users wanting to join the list.

Let's see if it's something that sorts out, since it's not only the Loudmouth list I'm hoping that Googles spam filters will learn to deal with them pretty fast.

I just noticed that you can moderate messages from new members which
should reduce the spamming to the list.
