Hello All,

I have a Lotus Note Database (.NSF Extension) Its 19 GB in size. I try
to open the database and it says: "This database cannot be opened
because a consistency check of it is needed". I then try to run fixup
on it and is says: " Index Update shutdown: Database is corrupt ----
cannot allocate space". Does anyone know what I can do to fix this
database?

The cause of the corruption can not be guess. The only known
workaround is make a New Replica from backup storage. In some cases
load fixup DatabaseName.nsf from the server console work.

How much disk space do you have?

In order to fixup  & compact any database, the domino server creates a copy of the database to be processed before going ahead with the fixup or compact... Ensure that you have enough diskspace before you proceed. Also DO NOT allow your database to attain this size... it becomes really unmanagable and more often than not, leads to dataloss..
