A very good find, Andy.

There is some footage of the 1964 Road America 500 here: https://youtu.be/8KUOqC28VGI

You may find some more footage of your 30 in the film.

For the rest of you, there's a lovely shot of Andy and his 30 at the 'Spirit of the 60s' Bristol Motor Club organised event at Dyrham Park, near Bath, on the front cover of Historic Lotus #67, Winter 2011/12.

Gents
I wonder if you can help me please?
My gearbox packed it in last weekend (well it lasted over 14 years of careful weekend circuit driving) and I have been doing a bit of net surfing and have found a couple of pathways to fix (well I won't but another retired fellow who has a Sprite and aTurner
he races and has worked on for years has offered to repair for me).

It seems to me there are several people who have sets of the original BMC Spur gears C-A JJ3319 and layshaft 22G673 for sale which is one avenue and the other is a firm in UK called CCK Historic who have Quaife supplied kits or the "opportunity" to supply a complete smooth case box for my car with the Quaife stuff all installed -noting that the Quaife stuff is much dearer than the alternate BMC Spur Gears.

Any thoughts on either pathway please would assist.

my regards

Here in the US there are 2 ways to go. Taylor Racing in Texas sells a remanufactured rib case with dog gears?Webster? internals, and then Winning Circle in Ohio has gear sets for the rib case in BMC close ratios.

That is the path of least resistance.

To maintain a smooth case I had an old one re-machined for a larger lay shaft and gears machined to fit and welded to make the cluster. I believe they were also Webster gears. A local machinist did the development for me, he has passed. I didn't use it finding the Richmond the car came with ( Taylor is similar) really a superb unit. I sold the smooth case off to a bugeye racer.

Good luck,
