Is this an original Eleven?

The description of the Lotus XI that Mike Brotherwood recently put up
for sale seems confusing on whether this is an original car, "Famous
1980's Crosthwaite & Gardiner reproduction with all aluminium body by
Williams & Pritchard..."

However the car seems to have participated in many events, incl. the
Mille Miglia.

Dear All
This car is one of 4 very good new replicas built by Crosthwaite and
Gardiner in the 1980s. The bodies were done by Len Pritchard.
It was "awarded" an incorrect Series 2 chassis number by the first owner who
obviously did not know the difference between an S1 and S2.
