Retrievinga Facebook account is a relatively simple process that involves the use of a code that is sent to your email or phone number to help confirm that you own the account. However, there are cases of Facebook not sending the code due to several reasons. Here is a simple way to fix the issue of Facebook not sending code to email.

Resolving the Facebook code generator not sending SMS is quite an easy process. All you have to do is to turn on Facebook text in your Facebook settings. When that is done, the Facebook code generator not sending SMS will be resolved. Here is how to set up Facebook text:

Facebook typically sends a 6 digit code either to the phone number linked to your Facebook account or to a linked email address. If you are trying to reset a new password or trying to login with a new device and Facebook is not sending the 6 digit code that verifies that you own the account, here is what you should do to resolve Facebook 6 digit code not being received by you.

To set up security measures to make your account more secure, Facebook will suggest you turn on the two steps-authentication. It will request that you choose a method for receiving security codes in case you would like to log into your account with a different device or browser. However, if you add more than two phone numbers or emails, your account will be flagged as suspicious by Facebook, and as such your account can be locked temporarily.

If you notice you are not receiving a Facebook password reset code email in your mailbox, it means that the current email address you are expecting the mail to come through is not linked to your Facebook account. To resolve facebook not sending code to email, you will have to either receive the password reset code via the code generator as outlined above or you receive it via SMS. Here is how to resolve facebook not sending password reset code to email using SMS;

After signing up on Facebook, Facebook sends a code to either your email or phone number so as to verify your account. If you notice Facebook is not sending a confirmation code to your email, all you need to do to get the confirmation code is to

Facebook usually resets the password by sending either a reset password link to an email address or a reset password code to the phone number. You can fix Facebook by not sending SMS code to reset the password by getting the reset password link via mail. Here is how you can resolve Facebook not sending SMS code to reset password.

As the title suggests the security check has been sending a 5 digit code to my phone instead of a 6 digit one, which is not accepted. This has rendered my account unable to log in so I can't contact Facebook. Its been like this for months, I was hoping they would fix it but if no-one can tell them about it then they probably don't even know.

Without logging in I can't post in the help section or even send a message about the fault. Creating a fake profile doesn't work either as they close it down the moment I speak of another account. There is no way to pass the security check as even if I prove my identity by changing the password the same screen comes up straight after, also it does this on my phone, tablet and laptop so its not a devise problem.

The problem may be in your phone smart SMS services. Many a time I need to look into the original text of SMS to get the code as my android SMS shows me a card type Message which looks fine but may show wrong code.

The only way I found to bypass the security check was to deliberately disable the account by answering the security check incorrectly (repeatedly). Once the account is disabled you can request it be reopened by sending a photo of your ID. The account has to be disabled before you can do this using the link in the help section

I found this website of support request forms ( -to-contact-facebook-to-get-support/). I filled in two of them but there was no confirmation page nor was there a confirmation email. I have no idea if the forms were received. Regardless, if we all submit a couple forms, perhaps someone at FB will take notice.

I have been doing some research on methods of communicating with Facebook with very little success. However, I did come across the following email: directfbhelps @ outlook.com. The people who posted it claim that they are effective at getting these sorts of issues resolved.

After 3 weeks of receiving the LS-NONCE code after trying to reset my password, I finally realized its an issue with android phones. I then used my daughters iphone to reset my password and it worked! I actually received my 6 digit code and logged into facebook!

I'm also unable to receive Facebook verification texts. I'm able to receive texts from everything and everyone else to this point. The correct phone number i entered in Facebook, and I have re-sent the verification code multiple times, but nothing is coming through.

I manage my company's Facebook page and am required to verify this phone number in order to complete my location and identity verification to continue managing the page. I urgently need to resolve this problem.

Actually, I just found and resolved the problem (for me). Under 'Mobile Settings' in Facebook the permissions to send me texts had been disabled for some reason. I used the green 'Activate' button there, which triggered the same verification text prompt, but actually (and immediately) sent a verification text.

I am having the same problem. My daughter decided she wanted to try Facebook so we set up her page. When she went to log in again, FB was asking for a phone number to send an SMS code to verify her. The code has never come. We tried my phone number and nothing. FB now shows we have "tried the sms request too many times and have to wait 24 hours". My husband is on AT&T and set up a FB and he received his sms code just fine. FB does not respond when you submit a "problem" to them. It seems to be something on the side of Verizon. Our iphone settings have all been verified to be on what they need to be to allow sms texts. We received them from others but the FB one will not. So now my kid has a FB she can't use because she can't verify her phone number without the stupid sms text.

Yes, I kept reading where different sources were saying to wait 24 hours before trying to log in again, and I WAS NOT LISTENING. The more it would deny me, the harder I'd continue to try to get logged in. I finally mustered up the patience to wait it out.. low and behold- 24 hours later, login is successful.

I signed up to receive proceeds from the Facebook settlement and chose Paypal as the method of payment. As a part of this process, I am supposed to receive a six digit code to verify my Paypal account via email. That was 3 hours ago and I haven't received any code so I can't continue the process of receiving a payment from the Facebook settlement! Why am I not receiving the code?

Sorry to hear that you're not receiving the code to complete the verification process to receive payments. Have you confirmed your email address to receive the communication from PayPal? If not, please confirm your email address in your PayPal account by reviewing this link. It could be possible that the emails with verification code routed to spam/Junk folder. I suggest to review your spam/junk folders check for the email. You can also try to request an another code for the second time, or check with your email provider if they have blocked any emails at the server level.

Hello to the forum from a Keepass beginner.

My aim is to use my FIDO2 key as part of the Facebook login ... but this requires two factor auth to be created first.

I have got this far ...

Installed plugin "KeepassOTP"

While logged into FB using conventional means started the 2 factor auth process.

Received a QR OTP and copied the characters into KeepassOTP using KeepassOTP>OTPsetup.

Small dialogue box accepts this pasted set of characters and I see a current 6 digit code number and the 'next' 6 digit code number.

Typing the current code into the FB response boxes is refused (quote = something wrong).

Tried waiting for 'next' code but all attempts get same fail result.

Should I be using 'advanced' and what might those settings be for FB be ... or am I missing something ?

Thanks in advance

Paul

If you have an app on your smartphone like Google Authenticator, andOTP or similar: Please scan the QR code with this app. Does it it show a different 6-digit number than KeePassOTP? If yes: What's the time difference between your smartphone and your pc?

If the number of characters in the OTP secret is not divisible by eight, the string must be padded with equal signs (=) to a length that is divisible by eight because it is Base32-encoded.

I had the same problem on Amazon whose secret string was 52 characters long. After appending four "-characters to it in KeePass, KeePass returned the same codes as Google Authenticator.

Thank you "Rookiestyle" and "TomFei".

Success.

Have followed the route again and this time got a different page ... which allowed me to directly set-up a FIDO2 key ... that option was not available to me before - probably because I had not then got 2 factor enabled.

So I have registered my key.

Now having the same fun with email client on Android ... ah, so much fun.

Thanks again - over and out.

Paul

Thanks for the hint with the equal signs. They weren't actually needed, but it made me realize, that I should delete spaces between the groups of four characters. OTP works great with the simple KeePass 2 program. Thank you!

Every time we attempt to perform a critical action on Facebook, such as signing in from a different device or changing our account password, Meta requires us to verify our identity. For this, it sends a security code to the phone number or email address linked to our account.
