Gaza flooding (poem)

Gaza flooding *
 
 
And God said unto Noah:
“Build thee an ark …”
 
Build thee an ark
and call on every race
to send an agent on the ark
 
Call on the world and lose not faith …
no matter what you face
 
Lose not the faith
though some might say:
“Wait for the flood to come”
and some might say: “The flood will never come”
and some will tell you that
there never was a flood
and that there won’t be one
 
    The flood is here!
 
A flood of blood and tears
wrecking that ancient land
between the desert and the sea
Sweeping in its way
every olive branch
Drowning, as it rises,
the conscience of human race
 
 
And man said onto man:
“Come, join the ark!
and let’s carry on the ark
all the hope we can amass
before it fades away”
