Impotent *

Your voice tickles my soul
Your scent grips me
I sail the sea of your eyes,
as I always dreamt I would
You touch my heart
I hold your hand as the storm approaches

Under the murky dark blue sky
—despite the rays of sunshine
breaking through the thickening clouds—
I tremble

A wilderness is born inside me
In uncharted deserts I wander
Gazing at my reflection in your eyes
I only see a stranger

Impotent
I can’t make love to you tonight
