Blood*
 
There’s blood on the sidewalk
Blood on the wall
 
There’s blood on the pulpit
Blood on the door
 
There’s blood on the cross and blood on the floor
 
 
The scribes and the preachers
have blood on their hands
 
The landlords
The traders
Have blood on their hands
 
The sultan,
his cronies,
have blood on their hands
 
 
There’s blood on my hands
   and there’s blood on yours
 
Silently watching
Cowardly silent
      We blemished our souls
