Club Members Present: Dave Fotsch, Andy Skeen, Jeremiah Flynn, John Twa, Jill Adelstein

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Over the Hill Gravel Grinder (Jun 13)

status update (Dave F)

- the 2026 event will happen using the same routes as last year

- Dave has reached out to Horseshoe Bend High School about parking; he has not yet contacted the Riverside Restaurant

- the event needs permits (with county) due to complaints of “trash” left behind last year

- registration is completed in BikeReg and will go live on Monday, February 23rd

- club needs to pay for: Cycling West advertisement, Facebook Boost posting; Dave to coordinate these paymens

- we need to reach out to Lyle Pearson about continued sponsorship

ACTION ITEM: Eric --> get Dave contact info

- need coolers water jugs, sign crossing

ACTION ITEM --> Jeremiah: investigate the possibility/price of getting signage for the club; he has a contact

call for planning committee members (anyone interested in helping plan/run this event please be at the meeting, or let us know that you are interested)

- volunteers are needed day of and for the pre-ride

ACTION ITEM --> Andy: it may be possible to involve “Search and Rescue” club’ Andy to investigate what is possible

- current committee: Dave Fotsch, John Twa, Jill Adelstein, Marion Benzing, Eric Lafferty, Andy Skeen

ACTION ITEM --> Dave: send email to club soliciting for volunteers and committee members

Ronde van Boise (May 17)

review of event (Eric L)

- interested in making some changes to course to: ensure all climbs are open (the Mesa has given us issues in the recent past), increase safety, ensure GPX file has minimal issues

call for planning committee members

- current committee: Eric Lafferty, John Twa

ACTION ITEM --> club members: is anyone else interested in helping review course?

MTB rides

to start after clocks move forward and weather improves

need ride leaders (ideally multiple leaders of various skills/speeds)

- Eric Lafferty has lead these up until last year; in 2025 Sean O’Shea and Andrew Shaber lead most/all of the rides

ACTION ITEM --> Eric: send email asking for ride leaders

is there club interest in a MTB skills clinic?

- everyone thinks this is a good idea!

- open to club members; limited space due to number of riders that can be taught at once

ACTION ITEM --> Eric: contact Andrew S to see if he is still interested in teaching this

 Kit store

current status

- store should be open on Tuesday, February 16

UPDATE: Pactimo closed for Chinese New Year; store to open when the celebration is over

Website updates

the web site is in need of updates; let's talk about how to get this fixed

- Henry hosts the web server at his house (make it really inexpensive)

- Chris Butler built the current site and sent to Henry via a Git repo

- primary update is to get the current sponsors on the site correctly

ACTION ITEM --> Henry: fork the project and get the latest version into a Git repo that we all can access

- Eric can make changes unless some other web savvy person wants to take ownership… anyone????

Club meeting time/day for future

we've been meeting Sunday's at 6:30; is this the best time?  (open to ideas)

- we meet on Sunday’s at 6:30 because “we always have”

- Sunday has free parking downtown

- Boise Brewing is usually quiet on Sundays

- no one thought there was a better day, so we’ll keep it the same for now

New cabinet members / roles

define roles necessary for a functioning club/cabinet; who will perform each task

expanded cabinet...  how do go about this? (if you're interested in being more involved please show up)

- mostly tabled this for now since only 50% of cabinet present, however there are things that we know are needed: send out meeting agenda/notes, monthly revenue/expense report, sponsor contact (annual payments, etc), membership list owner, etc.

- we’ll work on this at another meeting

Open Discussion Items

Social Media

- we’re not very good at social media

- how do we get more involvement/discussion within club?

- we need to make sure that the entire club knows that the email list and FB page are open for chatting about anything biking or club related

ACTION ITEM --> post all rides on FB, (at least for no drop); add recurring calender events for these

- “social media coordinator” probably falls under “needed roles”

Race Coordinator

- club wants to help with entry fees for riders interested in racers

- proposed 3 male and 3 female riders

- cover local race fees when rider wears kit

- need someone to administer this; keep track of expenses, ensure payments, etc.

- we need a criteria on how to pick racers

ACTION ITEM --> Eric: send email to club seeing (a) who is planning to race, and (b) who might be interested in coordinating the effort listed above

USA Cycling Contacted us about our “Team Type”

- an email was sent to the cabinet saying we need to renew our team type (not sure that that means)

- Feb 27th deadline!!!

ACTION ITEM: Henry --> follow up with Sean to see what this is

Tailwind (nutrition)

- Tailwind nutrition is one of our sponsorship

- Sean may have product at his house

- how do we get more?

- is it possible to get discounts on Tailwind for members?

ACTION ITEM --> Eric: follow up with Sean
