LRCers,
The club is hosting the Ronde van Boise ride this Sunday. This ride has been going on for 15(ish) years, and this is Lost River's 3rd year of hosting the event. If you're not familiar with the ride it's a circuit around the city hitting many of the short steep climbs in town. The ride is loosely based on the Ronde van Vlaanderen (i.e. Flanders) cycling race held every spring in Belgium where pro riders climb numerous "bergs" (i.e.hills).
The Ronde van Boise, is an unsanctioned event. There is no entry fee, no prize for winning - it's not a race - minimal support, but lots of fun. The full course is 71 miles and 8,250 feet of climbing. However, you're not obligated to finish. RIde as much or as little as you want. The objective is to challenge yourself to do something out of your comfort zone - that can be one climb or all of the climbs. You decide.
If you have ridden in the past we've made changes this year. Many of the same climbs are part of the route, but we've added some and took away others.
Details:
RIde starts on Sunday, May 17th, 202 at 9:00 a.m. from Reed Cycles on Bogus Basin Rd.
We'll be
grilling burgers at the stop start/finish line from around noon until people stop trickling in. Stop by for food and beverages after your ride.
GPX file / map is available for download here: https://www.strava.com/routes/3487648971915623502
It's recommended that you use the GPX file, but you can survive without it if you have a copy of the PDF.
Note: The regularly scheduled Sunday club ride is not "not scheduled" but this is a better alternative.
Hope to see you there.
