Greetings,

Welcome to the new year. We are ready and excited to get this Winter
quarter of LFC underway, starting with our first meeting which was
yesterday. If you could not be at the meeting, this is what ya missed.

After giving our president a standing ovation, the company was clearly
elated to hear of my having finished catching up with LOST. Check that out
if you haven't, you'll be glad you did.

*****************************
AUDITIONS ARE TONIGHT AND TOMORROW
January 7th and 8th, 7 - 9 PM
Baker 2nd Floor Hallway, One of the Exec Board will be there to direct you
to the right room

1) Thank you to Papa Smrdel for bringing pizza to the meeting again.
Hopefully everyone was able to partake.

2) ArtsWest Musical Variety Show - We discussed this event coming up to
help fund the re-flooring efforts of Emily Prince, the head of Arts West.
Arts West houses LFC's annual musical and is an important part of Athens'
artistic community. The show is in the early stages of planning, but would
consist of people singing songs from musicals, maybe some we have done
ourselves. There is also the possibility of one or two Emcees hosting the
evening. One thing that we asked for at the meeting was someone to serve
as producer for the show, and I believe Ms. Gucik volunteered, or at least
tentatively volunteered. That being said, if you have an interest in
producing, should Katie no longer wish to take on this endeavor, be sure to
let the Exec Board know. Also if you would just like to be involved in the
production, be sure to let us know or Katie. I am certain any assistance
would be valued.

3) Each director gave a brief run down of their respective shows. The
directors talked about their previous experience with LFC and why they are
directing the shows they are, as well as mentioning information about the
characters, the stories, as well as possible production team details. This
turned out to be a lot of information, so if you are interested in a
synopsis of a particular play, Dramatists.com or Wikipedia may be able to
help you there.

4) Production Teams were discussed. There are still many positions
available in most of the shows, including producers, stage managers, and
assistant directors. There are plenty of opportunities to be involved this
quarter, so we encourage everyone to at least consider joining a team that
will bring each play to life.

5) Sister Shows! Rumors and Wonder of the World are teamed up, for the win
I might add, and then Vagina Monologues and Autobahn are together. Sister
shows are responsible for assisting each other with production aspects like
publicity and cast parties.

6) AUDIT(s) - The Exec Board must apologize for the delay in getting
receipt money back from last quarters' shows. We need to schedule an Audit
with SAC to go over our books from Bat Boy, and only then will they take
the hold off our account that would allow us to disburse money. Please be
patient, we will get the money to you as soon as possible.

7) MUSICAL SUBMISSIONS - We still need more musical submissions. We have
three so far, including Evil Dead: The Musical and Seussical. We still
need more, so please get those in by next week.

8) Set Committee, join it! We all need to make a better effort to chip in
and help build our sets...or else we won't have them

9) FUNdraiser - Jess Jones, your treasurer, is working on this. We look
forward to getting together as a company and enjoying each other's
presence.

10) LFC Exec Board auditions are week 10 of this quarter. The LFC Meeting
in Week 8 or 9 will feature small speeches by those interested in running
for an Exec Board position. Available positions are President, Treasurer,
and Secretary. The current exec board is available to answer questions
from interested parties about everything from time commitments to what's
expected of each position.

11) ONE NIGHT STAND - We still need your submissions! Anything embodying
the idea and values of One Night Stand's message can be submitted.
Questions and submissions should be directed to Sarah Stevens, Kim Brack,
or Katie Sierzega. Please get those poems, stories, songs, short plays,
anything to those three as soon as possible.

12) BLACK SHEEP - We have auditions this week as well. Look for weekly
shows to resume next week on Thursday at 9 PM in Scripps auditorium...not
to be confused with Scripps Amphitheater...which is outside...and large.

These are some suggestions form the company at the meeting:

SUGGESTIONS FOR THE ARTS WEST SHOW:
The songs could have an encompassing theme or message, maybe:
Songs from the World
"Bad Girls and the Guys Who Love Them" - Or something to that effect

SUGGESTIONS TO DIRECTORS AND AUDITIONERS FOR CALLBACKS:
Exec should make sure there's a room for callbacks to wait in

DIRECTORS: Remember who you have called back and call them back if you ask
them to wait. They are doing you a favor by auditioning for your show, so
please be courteous and call them back in if you call them back and ask
them to stick around.

CALLEDBACK FOLKS: Bring your homework, that way you have something to do
while you wait. Make the most of your time.

************

All right guys, I'll see y'all tonight and/or tomorrow at auditions. Best
of luck to everyone.
