Thanks to everyone who came to the last meeting of the quarter! T'was a
fantastic meeting, hopefully y'all thought so as well. Here's what the
company discussed:
1) MOON OVER BUFFALO - Hooray! Great show, Devin says thanks to everyone
who helped out with the show and came to see it.
2) Go see HOUSE OF YES, this Friday and Saturday in Baker University Center
Theatre at 7 PM!
3) SET COMMITTEE - Devin also talked about the company's involvement with
the workings of set committee. The cast and crew of each show is
responsible for being at the build day and move-in days for their
respective show. Next quarter the company needs to make a stronger effort
to be at build days and move in days. Go team.
4) Bat Boy DVDs! E-mail Bryan Cain if you would like one. If you want a
pillowman dvd, e-mail him immediately because the file is being deleted
here soon. Rocky DVDs are also happening? I cannot remember what the
final word is on that, but they are apparently available. Contact Jess
Craine about those. Also, a reminder to please stay smart and alert when
it comes to DVDs.
5) BLACK SHEEP - We're doing well, coming off another fantastic show at
Laughter After Dark. Much fun was had, from what we're hearing. Our last
show of the quarter is:
THIS THURSDAY, November 13th at 9 PM in Scripps 111 for $2!
This is a good opportunity to take in a different type of theater for
people who have not seen Black Sheep perform before, a style much different
than the main stage productions that LFC produces.
6) Receipts from shows need to be given to Jess Jones. The checks for this
quarter are due in on Friday, and all other checks from recent receipts
will be distributed after winter break.
7) Mr. Geoff Smith gave us the first actual submission for a musical today,
Evil Dead: The Musical. Thanks to you, Mr. Smith! Remember: We are still
accepting Musical and Short Stack Submissions for the spring quarter. The
sooner the better. All we need from the musical is the soundtrack, and the
book if possible. Otherwise, just the CD will suffice. Bring us your
Short Stack submissions and musicals. Go team!
8) WINTER QUARTER SHOWS
They are as follows:
Rumors by Neil Simon, Directed by Arianna Iliff
Autobahn by Neil LaBute, Directed by Jessica Jones
The Vagina Monologues, Directed by Sarah Stevens
Wonder of the World, Directed by Bryan Cain
We're very excited to see these shows!
9) SISTER SHOWS - Next quarter, we're going to try a new concept called
Sister Shows. Two shows will be paired together to assist each other with
publicity and after show entertainment. This is being implemented with the
hopes of bringing members of the company together across the boundaries of
their respective shows. Go company!
10) Lastly, we put some questions out to the group because those of us on
Exec were very curious as to what people in the company were thinking about
the company, the quarter, and the exec board. We would like to thank
everyone for answering honestly, your criticism is very helpful in shaping
which direction you all would like to take the company. This is a good
reminder that this theater company is only as strong as the people who take
part in it. Thanks, again!
That's about it everyone. Hope to see ya at Black Sheep on Thursday and
House of Yes this Friday and/or Saturday. Go team!
