Greetings,

Hope all are doing well and in good spirits. I hope that 2014 will be a great year for all of you. I hope you and your family members will be filled with many blessings for this upcoming year.

I am emailing you all because this coming weekend is MLK weekend and in the spirit of MLK, a group of organizations from L.A. will be reclaiming public space by sleeping out in Venice Beach to bring awareness to the homeless issue and asking people to join us in supporting the CA Homeless Bill of Rights. The direct action in Venice Beach is one of several actions that will be taking place throughout CA during the weekend. I have a included a flyer about the event going on in Venice Beach. For those who can't make it for the whole event, we are highly encouraging people to stop by and meet us at the designated time and location. Please feel free to spread the word to your contacts and to anyone who you may be interested in attending. 

Together we can make sure that California follows in the footsteps of Rhode Island, Illinois and Connecticut who have passed a Homeless Bill of Rights.
