D
ear Friends,
Five
years ago I left much of what I knew behind in search of that which
evoked my deepest passions - a search for the illusive silver chord
drawing us forward in destiny. An initially hesitant participant in Thailand's Wongsanit Ashram 2010 EDE & TOT, I was surprised, delighted and
almost in disbelief, to be experiencing so many of my desired life paths
- in consensus reality and dreamland - gracefully colliding &
integrating, revealing dreams and beckoning forth new aspirations. Gaia Education's through the line (that is, triple bottom line) approach to sustainability deeply inspired and the Thailand programme itself a watershed in my search.
I
went onto to volunteer in Thailand & Myanmar, supported and
facilitated in the Thailand EDE, and began working with Gaia Education,
initially as the editor of our GEESE InFormation newsletter, and later
in the role of Communications Coordinator. Narumon (Mon) Paiboonsittikun, Pracha Hutanuwatr, Jane Rasbash & May East were
all instrumental in this journey. It was during the 2010 TOT that Yoji
Kamata introduced me to Arnold Mindell and process work. Pivotal process
work seminars coincided with my time in Thailand and England, enabling
me to follow my growing fascination and appreciation of this awareness
raising paradigm and cross paths with others crucial to my journey.
While
in Portland earlier this year at a process work intensive, a rare
opportunity opened to join the Master of Arts in Process Work, which until
that point, had seemed a distant dream. The privilege of engaging in
such tender work, excavating the many intricate folds of humanity, sits
warmly and heavily in my heart, a silent marker polishing the silver
line of the mythic path drawing me forward with alchemical abandon.
May
has often spoken of our role in this period of humanity's unfolding as
being both nurse to that which is dying, and midwife to that which is
being born. In many ways Gaia Education has been exactly this to me -
guiding and supporting in laying to rest that which no longer serves me,
and inspiring and opening opportunity and supportive space as the new
within dreams itself into being... With my pursuit of process work deepening, the time has come for a
transformation in my role and relationship with Gaia Education. While I
will continue to edit the GEESE InFormation newsletter and manage the
more technical aspects of our digital presence, I am releasing the role
of Communications Coordinator to the next enthused agent of change
excited to take Gaia Education and the role of
Communications &
Marketing Coordinator to a new level. See the attached, feel invited to apply, spread the
word!
Tho this is not my last communication, at this crossing, I would
like to give thanks to the entire Wongsanit Ashram team, who I cc in
this email, for their inspiring facilitation and gentle guidance in
peeling back the layers of my White, Westernised worldview and opening
my eyes to the potent potential of Other; to May East for her poignant presence
at key junctures, inspiring leadership and continued support and belief, and to Gaia
Education for her role, her witnessing, her holding, as I have journeyed through this
profoundly
transformational period.
In naming Gaia Education, I call
forward her true shadow: from the seeds of community and
interconnectedness left by all our indigenous ancestors, to Gaia as she
has held, bore witness, and given life; to the indigenous communities who have recalled true resilience is returning to the heart; to Ross, Hildur,
Max and other initiators of GEN; to all who brought forth their lived
wisdom and experience in co-creating the EDE curriculum, and to the many
of you, GEESE & Alumni, who have shared with me, initiated and continue to inspire programmes & lived dreams around the world. To You I give thanks.
With warmth from a snowy Findhorn. Gratitude.
