Just wanted to give you a little update on the boys.
Coco is doing great with his potty training. We got some really high
reward treats and used them in the backyard and on walks, and he now
poos and pees in the yard with out escaping down the hill. It got
worse for a week before things turned around. THanks for all the
great tips.
We used the leash under the foot when we had them out at the malls.
And that was excellent too.
THe boys met a skunk a few days back, so that was a new experience for
everyone. HA Ha HA!!
We still got some begging at the table or kitchen when people food is
around. And still trying to work with the cherios.
THats about all we've done so far, but will start to work with Louis
with the clicker when I get back to Alaska.
THanks,
kathy
It is gratifying to hear reports of success.
The more you use the foot on leash technique, the dogs will settle
sooner and sooner.
How is your mother dealing with the five minutes "sit down" on the
walks?
The "tips" are effective because they incorporate principles of
learning theory. There are many methods and tips, but only one
theory. The more methods properly utilize learning theory, the better
they work. Especially the principle of reinforcement that it occur
within 2 seconds, so the animal will make the association.
