Campout status

The main parking lot is behind a locked gate and the water is turned off. I left a message for the rangers but don’t expect to hear back until tomorrow. Parking is available but limited. We are starting water runs to other locations.

Those of us here are planning to stay, but know the status before you start out, and perhaps bring extra water. 

We are technically family camping tonight rather than pack camping. We are supposed to have running water when we camp as a pack. If we don’t hear back from the rangers tomorrow, we will evaluate whether we think it’s appropriate to camp tomorrow night.

A note for those who are concerned: while the water is still off, we have numerous water jugs filled up at camp. We’re all in good shape. I don’t see many of you who were going to join us for the day. Note that we’re going to start our morning hike soon and may not be here if you arrive between 10:15 and noon.
