Title: Memorial Day

Date: Monday May 26, 2025
Time: 10:15 am - 12:30 pm
Location: Guaje Pines Cemetery
Notes: Los Alamos County Memorial Day Ceremony
Guaje Pines Cemetery, 901 Range Road
Los Alamos, NM
Monday, May 26, 2025
Start Time: 11:00 am

We need Boy & Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts for color guards, wreath escorts and to hand out programs and water bottles.
We are doing something new this year. All participating organizations will line up and parade down the center lane to the podium/round about to start the ceremony. All that would like to walk in this procession should      arrive no later than 10:30 to receive instructions.

We will form Scout Color Guards at 10:15 from the oldest scouts present and in uniform at that time. We need 3-4 boys/girls to form the color guards as we have them cycle in and out so they don't have to stand at attention (or parade rest) too long. Also, older Scouts will be wreath Honor Guards. Younger Scouts will help pass out programs and water.

All Scouts will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Please show up at the cemetery by 10:30 AM in as much uniform as you own.

The ceremony begins at 11:00 AM and should be over by noon.

There will be a meal after the ceremony at the VFW, 1793 Deacon St.

Great opportunity for some Service Hours.

Please plan to participate, the veterans really appreciate the support from the youth in the community.
