Hi,

I've a  LoRaWan Server running on a virtual machine, ubuntu 18.04, latest lorawan server release.

It runs OK.

When I start  stress-test on it using LoRHammer  (http://lorhammer.itk.fr) the server crashes.

The stress paramaters are : 8 gateway, min node = 1, max node = 5

The test was about having 8 unknown gateway connecting to server.

The command to repeat  the test is :
./lorhammer -nb-gateway 8  -min-nb-node 1 -max-nb-node 5 -ns-address {server_ip_addr}:1680

Attached log files.

Best,

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this.

In fact, the reason for the crash is not related to the load/stress-test. It crashed immediately because the Hammer gateway sent “rsig”:null, which is quite unusual. The “rsig” is a proprietary extension (not documented in https://github.com/Lora-net/packet_forwarder/blob/master/PROTOCOL.TXT). It is used to send RSSI data. I never expected somebody will actually include a proprietary extension field and then leave it empty.

I recorded a new issue for this and fix it as soon as possible (hopefully today).

Cheers,

Petr
