Dear All,

The Vietnamese football team has won the AFF Cup 2008 after
approximately 49 years. Yesterday, it had shaken the whole country
with joy and happiness in people's hearts. And the prolonging dream is
now a reality.

I was down on the street to see people's celebration with flags, drum
and singing. The street was crowded with people and vehicles ...
sometimes crashes and at the end, people feel happy and smile at each
other as the sign of "forgiveness".

The Vietnamese' football team seems to bring people together as the
whole for a certain dream. Is it how a shared vision works among
people? And is it where the energy reaches its climax? I am struck by
the question what the vision is created/ held by all of us that we
don't see till something (the event of winning) happens??? And what if
it can be visible???

Also being noticed that our vision is at a certain level cracking down
the other's vision (we are winning over the Thai team).

Just a small reflection!!! what do you friends think?

Wishing every a nice holiday season!!!

We are extremely happy because we have never had this thing before. So,
- What the next steps of Vietnam?
- Are we satisfied what we have done and keep thinking that we are strong enough?
- How much are we strong when comparing with the big world?
- What can we learn from winning at first time after losing many times?
- Some foreign friends said: "You are struggling Vietnameses." How do you think about this?

These are some thought came up to me when hearing about our win. Let's think about them when you have time of silence.

My sister rang to me right after we had the good news. My heart from North East India was with you at home.

Cheers,

Tra Ngan Do

Dear friends,

I did feel happy when watching the score at the 90' + 4; From the victory, I acknowledge that football can represent strength of a nation. People cheered when we won and be silent when we had lost.

So, we wait, and we try until we meet luck and we get success. It is life; such a real life in a football match like that.

Luck never comes easily; and we all know a quote that 'easy come, easy go'. Could we meet another luck? Of course, yes! But probability is what we have to think.

From the victory, I know that Vietnamese youngsters now gradually know how to co-operate to defeat obstacles!

So, keep the cooperative spirit alive to build our country better!

Have a good day, friends!

Thanh.

Dear All,

It sounds like we have many to learn from a soccer tournament. Thanks
chi Ngan & anh Thanh for sharing your thoughts here.

Your questions are something that we may need to be aware and
reflective.

Usually, many competitions observe the archetype of escalation at
play. (we are winning over the Thai team - it is said a lot on the
newspaper). And the frame of "being stronger" normally observes ones
who have been experienced the hardship. Some decades back, Vietnam has
observed an amazing transformational trend since the war ended by
payting attention to economic development [focus on wealth] - Lots of
young people have shared the "outreach" ideas to the "bigger
ocean".Noticing the shift in mind from the concept of "closed door" to
"open door" -- and what will come next after in terms of shared vision
with the region and beyond?

The event of championing the AFF cup emerges through the proccess of
change (it takes around 50 years) - noticing the trend of the football
association itself - from local players to international players in
the connection with the country's growth.

My struggle is what we may be working hard today for the sake of our
country's growth "itself" would trigger threats onto the neighbourhood
(would the Thai team or one else allow this happens again?). As the
vision comes out for self over the other, how will this work out?
Would love to hear from you about this???!!???

Meanwhile, anh Thanh has pointed out the team cooperation as the key
of success. Sheila may have some stories on Key Success Loop - that
would be great to hear around!!! What is our Key Success Loop within
the team and in the connection with the others?

Thank you every one and love to hear from you!!!

Uhm, interesting to see the thoughts flow. What i saw the night we "won" was lots lots of people on the street. It showed to me how much people like to be on the street and like to share the feelings "shouting, laughing, screaming, and hitting things". It was the time people "acted out" what we felt inside without fear(of loosing face). And yes, we accepted those actions as normal and we were easily forgiven one another as Tuan Anh pointed out. It was curious my mind with the question why do people only go/join/driven into the stream when it was in victory? Would this let to the soccer players' feeling of "fear of loosing" in the future?

On another notice- when people were on the street, so did we use gasoline. And so we contributed to air and noise pollution.

A happy ending anyway!
