Here are the minutes of our first meeting. I left them as a stream of how the day went, so as to preserve accuracy. Which is not to say I didn't miss something. Please feel free to let me know if there are errors or omissions.

Thanks,
Diane

Thanks to all of you for your hard work on Wednesday. It is obvious we have a good team, and I am really appreciative of all that you bring to the table.

It became clear to me that we still need some training before going to the table. Did anyone else feel this way? I hope that Phil will be able to provide some of that training as we get our bargaining list finalized. Maybe some role playing would be helpful.

I think it would be good to inform our membership about where we are and next steps soon.
I would like us to discuss the best way to communicate this, realizing we still need to figure out our next steps. Some of the next steps are in the minutes but I realize we did not say by when etc.

I think our membership would be interested in knowing about the survey results, our bargaining list, our questions, the work on cleaning up contract language, our plans for research and plans for the next survey.

Phil, can you let us know what we can and cannot share with the membership and advise us about next steps, action plans and timeline?

Thanks,
Jeanna

Hi all,

I think Jeanna has perfectly summarized what we should share with the membership:
the survey results, our bargaining list, our questions, the work on cleaning up contract language, our plans for research and plans for the next survey.

When Phil helps us clarify how best to present it to the members, then we can proceed with that.

I also would like some more training, and think that maybe roll playing would be helpful. I'd like a more detailed sense of what the process might actually look like, after we hand each other our list of items to bargain, so I'll be prepared with proper responses.

I agree that we need some more training. I don't feel comfortable sitting at the table yet. Roll playing is an interesting concept and probably a good idea.

Phil,
When would you be available to help facilitate more training and role playing?
Jeanna
