This has been going on for years, but I am so effing tired of it now.
The photo editor doesn't work 90% of the time. I get a white pop-up with this message: "Error
An error occurred with the photo editor. Please try again."
One situation where the photo editor does work: right after I've uploaded a bunch of new photos. In this case I can edit the newly uploaded as well as older photos.
It does not work when uploading one photo just to be able to edit. (Which is a ridiculous workaround anyway, I am paying for this website.) In all other circumstances it does not work either. Restarting my computer, changing my browser, clearing the cache... does not work.
I've encountered this issue in Chrome and in Mozilla Firefox. I'm using Windows 10. I've switched laptops in the meantime, problem persists. So I'm sure it's not me. Do something about it please. I need a permanent solution.

Oldt1mer - Keith:
Why anyone would want to use the Flickr oneI have never edited on Flickr either, but some cameras can be set up to instantly upload to Flickr while the picture is taken. Any editing on those photos would have to happen on Flickr, I guess.

I have never used Flickr's photo editor. It's so basic and limited...
By the way, the photo replacement feature among the photo editor feature stopped working awhile back. Once a photo is uploaded, it cannot be replaced with a new improved version or another photo... Has this been happening to anyone else?

I need to edit photos for my Etsy website. What I need to do primarily is create a white background and not just take pictures with a white backdrop. I've included a copy of my websites current photos as an example of what I do not want.
Let me know why I am wrong. But, I think that would be easy to do using layers in Photoshop. You want photos of objects that appear to have a perfect white backgrounds, right? While easy it could be tedious though to get the job done very well. I don't see the copy you mentioned.
Instantly swipe away imperfections with our Retouch tool and fill the space with new elements, using Photoroom AI Fill. Transform ordinary photos into stunning visuals, as our technology brings your most imaginative concepts to life.
@Samsung_9UOVaam If you are trying to convert a motion photo into a GIF, you can use the method shown by @user365170tdJ15 or you can open the photo in the Gallery (don't click the pencil icon) and click on the 3 dot menu in lower right. From that menu, select Export and then you can select GIF.
In fact, I strongly suggest NEVER ENABLE THIS FEATURE and add a custom watermark yourself at the end of your photo edits unless you are better than the best professional who would never make this mistake knowing all the steps who will follow. I made a table to be able to put more photos
When I edit a photo I always follow the same steps, follow the guide and you will have good results too. At each step, I will tell you in which part of the editor I did this or that maneuver:
Step 1 the horizon : when editing a photo is to make sure that the horizon or the buildings are straight and despite all my experience, this is rarely the case. If you had set the automatic watermark, it will rotate when you reposition the photo. (Note that by using the grid you can easily avoid making this mistake but it won't be enough to keep the auto watermark).
Step 1 : Put my horizon line straight with the rotation slider ( #8 ) You will notice that if you rotate to put the horizon line straight, part of your photo will be cropped automatically. To crop to make it perfect, use the corners and drag one of the corners to adjust the photo.
As you can see in this photo, the horizon line, although it seems perfect, does not match the buildings that are in front and to correct this false impression, I had to make a slight rotation in order to improve the 2 visual lines .
A horizon is rarely straight despite our best efforts. If you looked closely my horizon was straight but not the horizon line of the houses which I preferred to correct and if you looked closely I completely lost the watermark of the photo and that's why I don't advise to put it at the end.
True professionals crop 99% of their photos, erasing the watermark or cutting it in half. In fact, few manage to frame the subject perfectly, and all true professionals give themselves some leeway to easily reframe it. For this reason, it is advisable to take the photo with a very good sensor allowing cropping: the 48, 50, 108 and 200MP sensors are perfect to help you do this kind of editing because they contain a maximum of photo information and allow cropping without loss of quality. ( It all depends on the crop of course.
There are several ways to edit your photo and no one has to start in the following order, either start with Tones, filters or color mixing. But I strongly advise you to improve the sharpness and definition of the image that you will find in ( #12). Then, it's up to you to choose which section you want to start in.
In this last part, I did it on purpose to make the task difficult by deliberately cutting out part of the photo in order to make you understand that it is possible to edit only one part of the photo, to rework it from independently and stick it back together using the Photo Montage. A photo editor is like a camera: you have to know it well in order to appreciate it at its fair value.
Shotwell has a single photo view that allows you to do most if not all of what you're asking. Shotwell, of course, has the advantage that it's included by default in modern Ubuntu so there's nothing to install.
To access the Shotwell viewer without separately launching the main Shotwell app, right click the photo and from the Open With menu select Shotwell Photo Viewer:
(You can make the Shotwell viewer the default program to open photos by selecting Properties from the right click menu and messing around in the Open With tab there.)
Whereas usually Shotwell is nondestructive (in the sense that any manipulations you perform on photos are only saved to a photo file if you export it), hitting save from the viewer does indeed write the changes to the file.
Darkroom brings a rich editing experience anywhere you need it, your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. With our powerful, nondestructive adjustments tools we let you edit your photos in any way you want. Expand you creative options with our premium Darkroom+ features.
Generative photo editing on the Galaxy S24 analyzes an image and regenerates it as you resize, remove, or reposition objects in the image. Users can also expand images while AI fills in the perfect background and even completes cutoff items in the image, which makes photo editing a hassle-free experience.
Note: When using the Generative photo editing feature, unwanted objects or items may be unintentionally added to your output. If the content is deemed inappropriate, it may not be generated at all.
We found this photo editing toolkit to be breathtaking. It features layers, masks, curves, and levels. You can eliminate flaws easily with the excellent clone stamp and healing tools, create custom brushes, apply perspective changes, and apply changes to isolated areas with smart selection tools.
GIMP is an open-source free photo editor, and its community of users and developers have created a huge collection of plugins to extend its utility even further. Many of these come pre-installed, and you can download more from the official glossary. If that's not enough, you can even install Photoshop plugins.
If you've got a lot of photos that you need to edit in a hurry, Ashampoo Photo Optimizer could be the best free photo editor for you. Its interface is clean and uncluttered, and utterly devoid of ads (although you'll need to submit an email address before you can start using it).
Importing pictures is a breeze, and once they've been added to the pool, you can select several at once to rotate or mirror, saving you valuable time. You can also choose individual photos to enhance with the software's one-click optimization tool. In our tests, this worked particularly well on landscapes but wasn't always great for other subjects.
If you want to make manual color and exposure corrections, there are half a dozen sliders to let you do exactly that. It's a shame you can't also apply the same color changes to a whole set of pictures at once, but this is otherwise a brilliant free photo editor for making quick corrections.
