Could anyone of you able to simulate any adhoc routing protocol ??

Did anyone installed "inetmanet" package for omnet++ ??

@tanay: I have choosen DSDV and Kesav : AODV.

I have installed inetmanet. But we are required to create the .ned files ourselves and link it to the inbuilt files.

.ned files are also existing in the INET folder, we are supposed to complete them?

I'm on Linux. .ned files are already provided, we need to write omnetpp.ini files for each protocol.

So.. fine. Got some insight on 'What is to be done?'

Understand inet-manet package or more precisely the project wrt its working and file management. I guess we should first concentrate on Network layer. But then if our protocol requirements come out to be cross layer, then we can look into the details of other layers.

On an important note, we need to remind Sir abt today's meeting. Your views please !

Anyone got any tutorials on how to write omnetpp.ini file? That is like the only step we have to do while simulating with INET modules for now.

Not today..

Well back to the point. Today's meet! I feel we should at least show the courtesy to tell Sir about what problems we are facing and so we would want one more day to explore more.

Also there are missing dependencies from the INET implementation also. Did anyone else get this error; I'm using the latest implementations only.

It's like it requires some file from transport layer, but that file isn't given in src/transport folder also. Did anyone try to compile?

around 5-5.30 pm was today's meet.

Shubham and Itiyama builded INET. Their's Running. I am envy. Building now !!

Inet-manet had some two problems. INET anyways has MANETS and seems to working. So let is use it.

@Itiyama and Shubham: Can you please share a brief documentation about the steps that you followed to run your simulation? At least after reading more online, I think I was going about it the wrong way; needed to first import the complete inet project and build it.

Shubham says: There is a video on YouTube. Search for 'Omnet++ Inet framework installation demo'.

Also what I did is just extracted the inet source. Copied the extracted folder into the workspace and then imported as a existing project. Now building. For some reason it seems to take ages :(

Building takes some good 4-5 minutes.

Well fine, and then after the building, how do you run a simluation for a particular protocol with support from other layers? I go to the routing protocol directory and make and compile it, but I get error about missing header files.

Actually, we should import inetmanet one only. Manual from INET states the following:

If you plan to simulate ad-hoc networks or you need more wireless link layer protocols than
provided in INET, download and install the INETMANET source archive instead. (INETMANET
aready contains a copy of the INET Framework.)

Yes, they spelt already as aready.

Well in INET-MANET there are many issues. Having spent half of the day on it, I switched to INET.
