Is the accessToken TTL measured in seconds or milliseconds?

Following the documentation, it mentions:
"You may also specify how long you would like the access token to be valid for by providing a ttl (time to live) in milliseconds."

But the result from the example curl returns a TTL = 31556926, which can be found in the source code as:
DEFAULT_MAX_TTL = 31556926 // 1 year in seconds

I assume the documentation is no up to date with the latest development code changes, but just to make, could you clarify what exactly is the correct unit?
