Hello,

is it possible to use strongLoop loopback models together with mongoose?

Hi,

Can you elaborate your use case to have LoopBack models work with Mongoose?

To me, most of the Mongoose features are already supported by LoopBack models + loopback-connector-mongodb. The model definitions between the two are very similar but Mongoose only works with MongoDB.

Thanks,

I would like to expose functionality similar to what is done by this plug-in which I am using now:

https://www.npmjs.org/package/mongoose-voting

I disagree. Mongoose is way matured. I am using both of them so I know. The lack of support for the dot notation in loopback is a killer for me and my group.
For flat mongodb schema, loopback works. Beyond that you will have issues.

I believe we allow dot notation for query too. Btw, loopback custom methods on the model allow you to use any node modules.

It does not work with the "field" query. So you cannot return a field with dot notation.
In any case do you have an example of how one could do this " loopback custom methods on the model allow you to use any node modules."
