Hi,

I'm *very* interested in some of the features in Loom, and I'd like to
know if there's any way I can help, or if there's any information
streams I should be watching besides your blog.

Cheers,

-Josh

Hey Josh,

Thanks for touching base. I was actually just wrapping up another
late night of coding on Loom when I saw your email.

I'm shooting for a really alpha release around Flex Camp Miami if all
goes well, at which point I'm looking to establish a roadmap for
features that the community wants and split up the work with whoever
wants to pitch in. Do you have a particular feature set you are
looking for, or something related that you would like to work on? Will
you be at Flex Camp Miami to discuss further?

Currently my blog is the best place to look for news. Once I launch
the project officially I expect I'll launch a Loom blog, which I'll
post a link to from my blog and the Loom site so that people can track
the project better.

Cheers,

- max

Hey Max,

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm interested in dynamic subclassing
and interface-implementation, as it opens up a lot of doors for
cutting down on boilerplate required to interop with frameworks I
maintain (and have developing in my head). Basically I want to allow
developers to specify a service interface, and supply configuration
information for various providers (SOAP, etc) and have my framework do
the voodoo, rather than forcing developers to build half a dozen 2
line implementation methods that are simply calls out to helper
functions.

Josh,

Would you mind writing up some sample code like Drew did? This will
help me understand what you are intending to do. I can't think of why
the API wouldn't support your use case since I will need Loom to do
what you are describing to get the dynamic subclassing finished, but
we might find some new ideas through discussion nonetheless.

Thanks,

- max
