Hi Kane,
I'm sorry you're having trouble working with Money Reader.
If I can, please let me ask you a few questions so that I can better understand what might be going on for you.
1 Did you give the app permission to use the iPhone's camera?
When you first launch Money Reader, you should have seen a dialogue which asks if it can use your camera. If this did not happen for you or if you need to verify that Money Reader can use your camera, you can go into Settings/Privacy and then tap the Camera button.
This will show you which apps do and do not have permission to use your iPhone's camera.
2 You mentioned waving the bill over the phone; from what you are saying, do you have your iPhone lying on a table and you are moving the bill above it?
If this is the case, which side of your phone is facing upward? Even though the phone does have two cameras, one on the touchscreen side and one on the back side, the one on the back side of the phone is the one which Money Reader uses to identify bills.
So If your phone is lying on a table, the back side (non-touch screen side) of your phone should be facing up.
this way you should be able to pass a bill slowly over your phone's camera (with one of the flat sides of the bill facing down) and it should then be recognized and reported by Money Reader. Does this make sense?
My apologies if this is too basic for you but It's best if we cover all the bases so we can really tell what is happening.
As one last suggestion for you, you may also wish to place the bill you are identifying on the table, and then place your phone directly on top of it, with the back side of your phone facing down on the bill.
Once you have done this, you can then slowly raise the iPhone straight up. Money Reader should then identify the bill as soon as it sees enough of the bill to recognize it.
As a note, the camera on the back of the iPhone is located on the top left corner of your phone when you have the back (non-touch screen side) of the phone facing you. So you will want to keep this in mind when showing a bill to Money Reader. Does this make sense?
Also, there is no need to tap anything on the screen while Money Reader is open and running. Money Reader will continuously look for bills and report them to you when it sees one.
The message you hear when you touch the screen is simply letting you know that Money Reader is in fact, running.
I hope this helps.
Please let us know how this works for you and if I can be of any further help, please do not hesitate to ask.
Have a terrific day!
Cheers!
Cara
