Review of “Heart Eyes”: A Slasher With a Holiday Theme That Spreads Bloody Love

Heart Eyes Lookmovie storyline alternates between laughter, violence, and that warm fuzzy feeling you get when two gorgeous people fall in love. Even if you find the latter sweet and tedious, Heart Eyes contains just enough graphic violence to satisfy the gorehounds. However, Heart Eyes is not without defects. The balance between horror and comedy is not always effective, with some gags falling flat or interrupting the suspense. While the film makes fun of rom-coms, it doesn't always spoof them well. Some scenes felt forced, and the story follows a predictable slasher pattern with little surprises.
