Hello friends and alumni, we have several openings for positions on
the Beyond Coal communications team, working with myself and a
fantastic team! Please check out our postings, and share widely with
anyone you know who may be interested.

Thanks!

GC '08 (oh GREAT!)

The Sierra Club, the nation's largest and most effective grassroots
environmental organization, seeks a San Francisco-based communications
manager for our ground-breaking, history-making Beyond Coal campaign.
This key Regional Communications Manager position will directly manage
a team of four press secretaries helping to guide media strategy
across the West and Midwest for one of the Sierra Club's priority
campaigns. The Beyond Coal campaign recently received a $50 million
donation from Bloomberg Philanthropies, and aims to retire a third of
the nation's coal-burning power plants and replace them with wind,
solar, and other clean energy alternatives over the next decade.

The ideal candidate has a proven record of resourcefulness,
creativity, and a good understanding of grassroots organizing. A
history of managing successful teams is essential given the fast-paced
nature of our work. In addition to shaping messaging, strategy, and
tactics, this individual will maintain key media relationships, pitch
and promote stories for the campaign, create paid-media plans, and
provide on-the-record comments for news outlets. Candidates should
have 5+ years of media and communications experience, and a passion
for environmental and social change. The job is based in San
Francisco.
