Bay Area Girls Rock Camp is hiring a part-time, paid contractor to coordinate Ladies Rock Camp!

Ladies Rock Camp (LRC) is a fundraiser program of Bay Area Girls Rock Camp (BAGRC), a non-profit organization that empowers girls through music education, creation and performance.  LRC is a program that empowers adult women through a weekend of learning and creating music, while raising money for our girls’ programs. Each woman who attends LRC pays for one scholarship for a girl to attend BAGRC Summer Camp.  LRC will be held at Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts in downtown Oakland from April 8-10th, 2011.

The Ladies Rock Camp Coordinator is a seasonal, part-time position offered by Bay Area Girls Rock Camp.

Job Description:

• 10 hours per week from December 8, 2010 - April 6th, 2011 in our downtown Oakland office and/or out in the community doing outreach
• 8-10 hours per day from April 7-10th, 2011
• pay is $15/hour, independent contractor, no benefits

Responsibilities:

• Program Planning
• Outreach/Marketing to Participants (our goal is to enroll 30-50 women)
• Registration Coordination
• Participant Liaison
• Food, Materials, and Facilities Coordination

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:

• interest in furthering our mission of empowering girls and women
• event planning experience
• detail-oriented
• organized
• proficient using email, google docs and spreadsheets
• excellent communication skills
• excellent customer service skills

The following qualifications are ideal but not required:

• fundraising experience
• marketing experience
• familiarity with the target demographic within Oakland and the Greater Bay Area
