YBike is looking for a new leader!  The Presidio Community YMCA seeks an Associate Director of Bicycle Programs to oversee all programs of the YBike Program, San Francisco’s leading youth bicycle and traffic safety education program.  San Francisco has the 4th- largest youth bicycle education program of all major cities in the United States.

The Associate Director of Bicycle Programs is responsible for developing the operational and strategic vision of the Presidio Community YMCA’s YBike Program, the largest community outreach program of the Presidio Community YMCA.  The Associate Director of Bicycle Programs oversees a diverse and growing school- and community-based bicycle, pedestrian, and traffic safety education program that serves dozens of schools and thousands of youth and families yearly through a variety of innovative programs, including: Safe Routes to Schools pedestrian and bicycle safety programs at multiple SFUSD elementary schools; after school bicycle safety and bike maintenance programs for elementary and middle school youth at multiple off-site SFUSD middle school sites;10- day Bicycling and Bicycle Safety units in Physical Education classes at middle and high schools throughout SFUSD; community- and city-wide events and outreach efforts and helmet giveaways; family and youth bicycling-related classes at the Presidio Community YMCA; and other programs. All YBike programs must be administered in a manner consistent with the mission, goals and policies of the YMCA.

There is direct supervision of full-time, part-time and volunteer staff as well as additional responsibilities related to working with school personnel and community partners.  Applicant must have the physical, visual and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
