One room is available in a charming and spacious home on a quiet street in Maxwell Park, Oakland. The house has lots of natural light, hardwood floors, lots of storage, and a giant backyard (including a hot tub and porch!). Great if you love gardening! Here are staged house pictures. The bedroom available can be furnished or unfurnished; however, the rest of the house is furnished. There are two other occupied bedrooms on the main floor and one occupied bedroom upstairs. All tenants are kind, clean, and down-to-earth good people.

The three bedrooms are on the main floor and share one full bathroom (with a fancy bidet), a giant kitchen, and a joined living/dining room. Brand new laundry machines - included in rent. No pets. Ample street parking.

Time estimates for things nearby:
5 minute drive/20 minute walk to Farmer Joe’s Marketplace
7 minute drive/25 min bike ride to Lake Merritt
10 minute walk to the Laurel District
10 minute walk to casual carpool into the city
10 minute drive/10 minute bike ride to Fruitvale BART

Restaurants in the neighborhood include: World Grounds Cafe, Sequoia Diner, Degrees Plato Bottle Shop & Kitchen, and Fist of Flour Pizzeria. It is very close to Interstate 580 and Transbay Express to San Francisco. 14 bus to BART stops are a few short blocks away.

About me: I am 34 years old and originally from the Bay Area. I have been living in Oakland for about 6 years and love it. I lead my own education and social justice consulting practice and often work from home (during COVID & non-COVID times). I am clean and organized, friendly, and enjoy hosting occasional potlucks (during non-COVID times). I do not smoke or have pets. I am vegan. I enjoy cycling, hiking, lindy hop, cooking, and being with friends and family.

About you: I am looking for roommates who are easygoing, considerate, and friendly. Someone who will want to both hang out on occasion, but also keep to themselves. I would like someone who is also clean. I prefer a vegan/vegetarian roommate and someone who does not smoke.

Rent is $1,200 - includes laundry, water, trash, recycling, and compost, shared storage space. Utilities range from $30-100, depending on the month (Internet, electric, gas).
