I've put a question to the Videopsalm people. My files are a mix of .json and .vpc, seemingly randomly assigned. I imagine the encryption protects missionaries in closed countries subject to scrutiny of their computers and downloads.
I was completely wrong- VPC is a Compressed Videopsalm file - un-check compressed in the songbook's configuration, and it will save as a .json!
